An exciting opportunity is to volunteer to help with VBS this year. VBS will run from August 4-8 from 9-12:15 p.m. The theme is "Power Labs: Jesus has the Power;" Jesus gives us the power to be thankful, to help others, to be brave, to live forever, and to tell others about God. Lottie Cantu and I are really excited about what this VBS has to offer our kids about strengthening their relationship with Jesus Christ. However, YOU are most vital in getting this message across effectively. Instead of dividing the VBS participants into four to five large groups based on their grade level, we will be dividing them into small family groups of five to six kids of mixed ages. Even though this is different and may prompt an initial puzzled reaction, I believe very strongly that this change will allow the children who participate increased relational attention and opportunities to contribute their gifts, as well. Due to this commitment, we trust that God will provide us with an adult or mature teenager for each five children that register. I believe this is an opportunity for you to grow in your own faith, as well as supporting the growth of our young people.
