For Heaven’s Sake:  About 5 years ago, the thought of a bluegrass gospel music band was shared by John Tielke with Dave Jenkins.  As the concept continued to grow, so did the people who shared the same interest.  Soon, a group consisting of Pearlene and John Tielke, Dave Jenkins, Paul Deucker and Stan Simons was practicing.  Early, Charlie Smith and his father were part of the group.  One fall afternoon, the group made their first appearance at a hotdog and hamburger barbeque on the church lawn.  They progressed to performing at fellowship time in the Meeting Hall.  Soon “For Heaven’s Sake” was born and growing musically.  They have provided music for our worship service as well as for other churches and organizations in the area.  In the past year, they recorded their first CD and provided music at the Mo Ranch Men’s Conference.

The music ministry at First Presbyterian helps bring glory  to God and beauty to our worship.

The Chancel Choir consist of members who are high school age or older.  The choir sings at the 11:00 a.m. worship service.  Practices are held on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 until 9:00.  Contact:   Jenny Calvert, Director of Music.
